Preparing your Property for the shoot:
To get the most out of your photo shoot, it is important for the homeowner or realtor to properly prepare the home prior to the shoot.  Remember to de-personalize the space as much as possible.  Potential buyers better visualize themselves in a space that is less personalized.  The more you can do, the better the shoot will turn out.
  • Clean house top to bottom, including washing windows and mirrors.  The cleaner, the better.
  • De-clutter as much as possible, less is always better.
  • Hide or box up personal items and store them out of site.
  • Turn on all lights and lamps to make sure all light bulbs are working, as all lights will be on during the shoot.  Replace light bulbs if necessary.
  • Remove as many family photos as possible, especially framed photos on dresser tops
  • Remove any pet items such as toys, bowls, cages, etc
  • Clean sinks, faucets, mirrors, stainless steel appliances, etc
  • Countertops and kitchen islands should be completely cleared off
  • All small appliances such as toasters should be removed from countertop
  • Trash cans should be stored out of site
  • Attractive place settings and centerpieces on dining room or breakfast table are acceptable
  • Align all furniture and chairs, push chairs into table evenly, etc
  • Remove magnets, calendars, notes, etc. from refrigerator
  • Clear paperwork and clutter from all desktops and turn off computers
  • Remove items from bathroom countertops, bathtubs and showers, such as soaps, shampoos, personal items, etc
  • Make sure toilet seats are down
  • Turn off TV's and computers
  • Turn off ceiling fans as they will come across as blurry in the video
  • Make sure all beds are neatly made with attractive pillows
  • Clean clutter and personal items off nightstands, dressers, coffee tables and side tables
  • If you would like walk-in closets to be in scan, leave closet doors open and organize it to look nice
  • Hide or organize cords attached to lamps, televisions, electronics, etc
  • Remove any hanging mobiles or items that may move, as they will be blurred in the scan
  • Organize closets and pantries that you want in shoot and leave doors open
  • Open all doors to rooms you want captured in your tour, including closets and pantries
  • Close doors to areas you do not want photographed
